Our Story

Our Mission: To facilitate sustainable practices in home landscapes and encourage resilient lifestyles through credible, science based products to create a healthier environment that resonates a positive impact into the future.

Vision statement: To inspire environmentally conscious, self-reliant living by connecting people with reliable educational resources and sustainably grown products.

I began my professional career as part of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History’s Botany Department. I started there as an intern during my undergraduate degree, I continued on as I pursued my MS in Biology, and I stayed on becoming the Botany Department Collections Manager. Working extensively with the Museum’s Natural Areas program, I fell in love with Ohio’s natural ecosystem’s and local flora. As a result, I developed a strong belief in the need to implement conservation and sustainable practices to protect our environment.

The decision to pursue my career path began when I was a child with my love for the outdoors. My grandparents also gardened and grew vegetables, which instilled in my heart a lifelong love for growing food and plants. While still working for the Museum, I became interested in sustainable agriculture. In 2020, the pandemic changed my career path, but also allowed me to pursue my interest in growing food and nurturing plants. I enrolled in the Sustainable Agriculture program at our local community college and participated in an internship program to gain hands-on experience in crop production using Sustainable Agriculture practices.

My hope is to combine the wealth of knowledge that I gained at the Museum and my love for science with the spirit of the sustainable agriculture movement to become a resource that has a lasting positive impact on our environment and future.

Best Wishes,

Trish

Our family currently lives in an urban setting with an average sized urban property. We strive to make the best use of our space to grow vegetables, fruits, flowers, and herbs. By applying sustainable gardening techniques, we are building healthy soils, reducing our negative impact on the environment, and producing nutritious, chemical free crops. Additionally, our family incorporates many homesteading principles to have a more self-reliant lifestyle.

Our dream is to grow our small, urban-based business into a small, family-owned and operated farm business. We would continue to use the sustainable agriculture methods that are the cornerstone upon which our business ethics are founded. We hope to continue to increase our ability to be a resource to our community and to provide quality, consciously produced products. In the meantime, as our family continues to grow our business into the family dream we are striving towards, we hope that you will journey along with us!

My promise to you:

I will endeavor to be a trusted resource for you. I will promote local flora and our natural ecosystems. I care about the planet upon which we all live, and I want to leave our world a better place for future generations of both people and the creatures with whom we share it. Additionally, I want to use my educational background and experience to bridge the gap between science and those who are interested in learning more about the subject.

The resources and products I plan to offer range in subject from Botany, to home gardening, to sustainable growing techniques, and more! As we grow as a business, I aspire to add classes and workshops on these subject, as well.
